IB Performance Measures

IB Performance Measures

The IB Performance Measures zone covers metrics in the IB Diploma Programme Statistical Bulletin, allowing analysis of key aspects of IB outcomes for exam results and in-year tracking. The Alps Connect platform already allows you to track progress outcomes at subject level against our unique thermometers, for more information please see this article: Subject Analysis Overview.

Please note if you are an IB school and do not have access to the IB Performance Measures zone, please email support@alps.education

Important Note: Before analysing your IB data in the Performance Measures zone, please ensure you have uploaded your Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay grades, even for monitoring data. Without these grades, the IB analysis zone will not display any data.

To access the IB Performance Measures zone, first select your Gradepoint in step 1 of the homepage and then click View Analysis under Headline Measures for IB:

This will open the IB overview page, which includes summary graphs for Pass Rate, Mean Subject Grade and Mean Total Points. These graphs are broken down by the comparison Gradepoints, if you only have one selected, you'll only see one bar.

Below, is the qualification overview table, which includes the metrics covered in the graphs above:

Switching the tab to Subject Attainment, displays a table of all IB subjects included in the selected Gradepoint and the distribution of grades achieved. The bottom row of the table shows the totals and the toggle above the table allows you to switch the numbers between percentage and count.

The Subject Area Distribution tab groups your subjects in their areas, showing the grades achieved for each subject group. Like the above table, you can use the toggle to switch the numbers displayed between percentage and count.

The Student Level tab displays a list of all IB students, with ID numbers in the first column, and Pass/Fail, total points achieved, core points and mean subject grade. Clicking any of the column headings allows the table to be ordered by either ascending or descending values. This table can be exported to Excel via the blue Export icon in the top right of the page.

The Apply Comparisons drop down allows the data to be filtered by key comparison groups, including Gender, Disadvantaged, EAL and SEND. If there is a specific group you'd like to focus on such as female students, you can use the Focus On drop down to select one group.

Applying filters and comparisons splits the tables up into the separate groups:
