In Strategic Analysis, the Subject Value Added page provides an overview of how the progress of students in each subject compares to progress made in that subject nationally. On this page you can easily compare subject performance across your Gradepoint trend. You can use this data to begin conversations with heads of department and establish patterns that might not be seen in raw results.
The image below shows an A Level subject analysis table over four internal monitoring points in a year. You can easily see subjects highlighted in red, to indicate that subject is performing in the top 25% for value added progress, and subjects in blue that are performing in the bottom 25%. You can also clearly see trends in subjects improving or staying the same. For example, below the A level Fine Art has improved from an Alps Grade 5 to an Alps Grade 3, putting them in the top 25% of providers for that subject. However, A level Economics has stayed at an Alps Grade 7 across the year, indicating little progress has been made across the year.
