KS4 Student Analysis Overview - number of subjects on target AUGUST 2023
KS4 Student Analysis Overview - number of subjects on target AUGUST 2023
In this article we introduce a new feature within the Student Analysis Overview (SAO) section.
Description
There are additional columns on the Student Analysis Overview table which count the number of subjects which are on target, below target and above target across each student's courses.
The columns can be used with either the MEGs or Personalised Targets (PTs) as a reference point.
The columns can be sorted and they can be exported to excel.
This feature will be of most use to colleagues at Key Stage 4, but the feature is available at Key Stage 5.
We have had many colleagues ask for a more detailed analysis of subjects falling on, above or below the MEG target at KS4 than the current Student Performance comparison tool allows. This new feature works at an individual student level and determines exactly how many subjects fall into these categories.

Further description of new feature: number of subjects on target
Let's proceed through the new feature from within a KS4 gradepoint. Navigate to the SAO.
On the right hand side of the SAO table, you will notice additional columns:
Subj on MEG
This column will count the number of subjects where the monitoring or examination grade is the same as the MEG/PT. These are the red (where grades are on target) or pink lozenges in the subject column on the SAO.
In the screenshot below, student 112 has three 'red' subjects
Subj 1+ above MEG
This column will count the number of subjects where the monitoring or examination grade is one grade above the MEG/PT. These are a sub-section of red lozenges in the subject column on the SAO.
Subj 1 below MEG
This column will count the number of subjects where the monitoring or examination grade is one grade below the MEG/PT. These are the grey lozenges in the subject column on the SAO.
In the screenshot, student 112 has three grey subjects
Subj 1+ below MEG
This column will count the number of subjects where the monitoring or examination grade is more than one grade below the MEG/PT. These are the blue lozenges in the subject column on the SAO.
Student 112 has two blue subjects
If you have added Personalised Targets (PT) to Connect, you will be able to use the toggle at the top of the screen.
The colours of each lozenge now reflect the grade against the PT rather than the MEG. The additional columns will now count the subjects according to the PT.
The column header acts as a sort button. Hover over the header and click. The first click will sort the column from low to high, the second click shows high to low, and the third clicks returns the column order to the original.
Finally, export to excel using the Downloads button. This might be in the MORE ACTIONS button on the far right of your screen.
You will be able to sort the columns and export to excel.
