Key Stage 4 Performance Measures – Set up Instructions

You will need to follow these instructions to set up your new KS4 Performance Measures section.

1.      Setting up permissions

a.      The main KS4 headline page has a permissions level which is controlled through your ‘Manage Users’ area

b.      Decide on the users you wish to have access to the main tables and follow the steps below to give access or watch this short video:

i.
Navigate to Manage Users.

ii.      Search for user and click on the Edit icon at the end of the user line.

iii.      On the edit page for that user, toggle the Performance Measure to ON and click SAVE.

iv.      Note that the user will have to log out and in again for the change to take effect.

c.       Users with permission will now see the following area from their Connect Homepage

1.      Publishing your data

You will only see your data in Connect when you republish historical gradepoints.

You may also wish to check cohort details and subject mapping prior to republish. We have added in all subjects which are valid for performance tables, and therefore there may be some subjects that you want to add to your gradepoint data.

The steps below form a checklist to ensure you get the right data into each gradepoint:

a.       Checking cohort data for KS4 cohorts in Connect Data

NOTE: If you have no data for any historical examination gradepoint you can upload retrospectively. Performance measures are available from the 2019 results up to and including 2021.22 gradepoints.

                                a.            Click into Connect Data

                               b.            Click into the Year Group eg Year 11 for the Academic Year you wish to check in the cohort table

                             c.            Check that the students included in the cohort are the same as those that would be included in the DfE performance tables. You can also check the prior attainment values.

                            d.            Students can be added / amended / removed via the radio buttons along the top of the ‘Students’ page.

b.      Checking subject mapping and grades for a Year Group in Connect Data

                              a.            Click into Connect Data

                             b.            Click on Gradepoints in the left-hand menu

                             c.            In the dropdown for Academic Year, select the year you wish to check

                             d.            Click on KS4 results / monitoring gradepoint

                                                               i.      Check the grades for students and amend as necessary

ii.      We have added new subjects to Connect Data that are included in the performance tables. You will have to add additional data with the subjects and grades that you had previously been unable to upload and map.

                             e.            Republish your Gradepoint.

                                                               i.      When you press publish there may be a delay as the performance measure page is re-calculated.

ii.      You will be informed when the page is ready to view through the message system on your Connect page. In the screenshot below you will see that my messages show a red 1. Open the message board by clicking on the envelope.

You are now ready to use your Performance Measure analysis.
