Interactive tables in strategic section - students counting towards the numbers AUGUST 2023
This newest tool in Connect allows you to identify the students contributing to numbers and grades within several of the tables in the strategic section.
Watch our video giving a demonstration of this new functionality:
Overview
In the strategic pages of Connect there are several tables where we have incorporated the ability to click into a cell to bring up the names and grades of the students sitting behind the numbers. The tables which have additional interactivity are:
The Attainment Profile table
The multi-year BBPA table
The current year BBPA table - available for A level and 2010 BTEC only
In each of the table, you can find out which students sit behind the figures by clicking on the cell. The table row will expand to show student names, MEGs and grades.
Begin a strategic session using examination or monitoring gradepoints.
1. The Attainment profile table - once your session has started, navigate to the Attainment Profile page.
The table shows the grade distribution for the qualification. In the screenshot below, you can see an A level attainment profile table. The numbers in the cells indicate how many students in achieved each grade in that subject.
Clicking into a cell will expand the table to show the students who achieved that grade.
For example, A level Biology - A grades. There are two students and these are shown beneath the row.
Note: If you export the table to excel at this point, the expanded component will appear in the excel file.
2. The multi-year BBPA
This table shows the amalgamated Alps value-added grade for students in each prior attainment band for a qualification.
In the screenshot you see the 10 prior attainment bands for a Year 11 cohort.
The top three bands for the 2022/23 gradepoint are blue in terms of their value added.
Let's focus on Band 2. There are 6 students contributing to the blue Alps grade 7. The question is, 'who are these students?'.
Click onto the student cell and the student overview will be generated within the table.
Again exporting to excel will generate a spreadsheet incorporating whichever rows of the table you have open at the point of export.
3. Current Year BBPA
This table is available for A level only.
It shows the grade profile for each prior attainment band across all subjects.
The red/blue divide indicates whether students in that band are on target against MEGs, with blue being below MEG.
For example, the students in Band 1 have MEGs of A*/A, but there are 4 B grades in the blue zone.
Expand by clicking into the grade B cell. The expanded table shows the students and their entries which are B grades.
