Fine Grades

Fine Grades

Fine Grades are a monitoring tool used to define whether or not your students are stretching to improve by a grade, securely at their working grade or at risk of dropping a grade. They are completely optional to use in Alps, and if you want to use them, this guide will show you how to set them up.

You can find the Fine Grades section in the Data Management section:

This will open the Fine Grades screen and allow you to set up your custom grade profile.

You need to tick the 'Use fine grades' and 'Allow no suffix for secure' boxes and then add your fine grades into the 3 text boxes Ticking the 'Allow no suffix for secure' allows you to import grades with and without fine grades alongside each other in the same import without creating errors in your data - please make sure you have turned this on if you are using fine grades.

You can use whatever suffixes you want, but these are the ones we recommend:

Stretch: +, 1
Secure: =, 2
At Risk: -, 3
