Ascent Setup Wizard

When accessing Alps Ascent for the first time, you will be prompted to complete the Setup Wizard. The wizard allows you to select which Ascent Tracking System you are using, configure your Start Bands/Grades and setup any excluded grade values.

In step 1 of the wizard, select either of the tiles to choose your Tracking System:

Different Grades (Tracking System 1)

If you are using Tracking System 1, your Start Bands will be different values to your Grades. Step 2 asks you to configure your Start Bands, simply type each of your Start Band names in the text box one at a time and click add.


In step 3, drag and drop or use the arrows to order your Start Bands from highest to lowest:


In step 4, configure your Grade values. For Tracking System 1 these need to be different from your Start Bands e.g. Working At, Working Below, Working Above. Type your Grade values into the text box one at a time and click add.



In step 5, drag and drop or use the arrows to order your Grades from highest to lowest:


In step 6, set the expected or on track grade (e.g. Working At, On Track) using the selection column:


In the final step, add an excluded values. These are values that may be in your upload files such as Absent, -, x, N/A, that you do not want to include in your analysis. Type each excluded value in the text box one at a time and click add. Please note blank values in your upload files will automatically be ignored by the system. 



Same Grades (Tracking System 2)

If you are using Tracking System 2, your Start Bands and Grade values will be the same e.g. Accelerating, Emerging, Enabling, Developing. In step 2, add your Start Band/Grade values one at a time using the text box: 


In step 3, drag and drop of use the arrows to order your Start Bands/Grades from highest to lowest:



In the final step, add an excluded values. These are values that may be in your upload files such as Absent, -, x, N/A, that you do not want to include in your analysis. Type each excluded value in the text box one at a time and click add. Please note blank values in your upload files will automatically be ignored by the system.
