2024 DfE dataset - additional L3 vocational benchmarked qualifications - April 2025

One of the issues we have faced during the pandemic is the lack of a national dataset released by the DfE.

Prior to the recent release of the 2024 national dataset, the 2019 DfE dataset represents the last time we were able to generate benchmarks. This has caused issues for subject coverage from a vocational KS5 perspective, with many courses having been examined for the first time post-2019. 

Note: these are available for analysis for all gradepoints from September 2023 to Results 2024. 
In addition, we have decided to make them available via the Provider toggle for all gradepoints used for monitoring between September 2024 and Results 2025. The default benchmark for this cohort remains the 2019 DfE dataset as we believe it is the most representative in terms of prior attainment and outcomes for the summer 2025 results. However there remain subject gaps in this dataset some of which have been covered by the DfE 2024 dataset. It felt appropriate to us to allow you to switch benchmarks to view value-added analysis for these subjects, although we express caution that any analysis will be relevant to the unique context of the 2024 outcomes. 

The list below outlines the subject for which we have been able to generate a benchmark from the DfE 2024 dataset.
